Acciones metodológicas para perfeccionar la asignatura "Seguridad Nacional y Asistencia Primaria" en ciencias médicas / Methodological actions to improve the subject "National Security and Primary Assistance" in medical sciences

RESUMEN Fundamento: es necesario el perfeccionamiento de la asignatura "Seguridad Nacional y Asistencia Primaria" en 1er año de la carrera de Licenciatura en Enfermería en la que se han visto afectaciones en los resultados docentes de los alumnos, con cierta frecuencia. Objetivo: diseñar acciones metodológicas para el perfeccionamiento de la asignatura "Seguridad Nacional y Asistencia Primaria", a partir de un diagnóstico de su proceso de enseñanza. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal, con un enfoque mixto en la carrera de Licenciatura en Enfermería, con información de los cursos 2015-2016 al 2018-2019. Se emplearon métodos teóricos, empíricos y estadístico-matemáticos. Los profesores que participaron actuaron como expertos para valorar la propuesta realizada. Resultados: se constataron insuficiencias en el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje de la asignatura "Seguridad Nacional y Asistencia Primaria" en 1er año de la carrera de Licenciatura en Enfermería, que motivaron al diseño de acciones metodológicas generales y particulares en diferentes temas que contribuyen al perfeccionamiento de la asignatura. Conclusiones: las acciones metodológicas propuestas tras el diagnóstico del proceso de enseñanza de la asignatura "Seguridad Nacional y Asistencia Primaria", respetan el fondo de tiempo de la asignatura y deben tener, según los expertos, un impacto potencial previsible positivo en los estudiantes de 1er año de Licenciatura en Enfermería.

ABSTRACT Background: it is necessary to improve the subject "National Security and Primary Assistance" in the 1st year of the Nursing Bachelor's degree in which there have been affectations on the educational results of the students, with some frequency. Objective: to design methodological actions for the improvement of the subject "National Security and Primary Assistance", based on a diagnosis of the teaching process. Methods: a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, with a mixed approach in the Bachelor of Nursing degree, with information from the 2015-2016 to 2018-2019 courses. Theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical methods were used. The professors who participated acted as experts to assess the proposal made. Results: insufficiencies were found in the teaching-learning process of the subject "National Security and Primary Care" in the 1st year of the Nursing Bachelor's degree, which motivated the design of general and particular methodological actions in different topics that contribute to the improvement of the course. Conclusions: the methodological actions proposed after the diagnosis of the teaching process of the subject "National Security and Primary Assistance", respect the amount of time devoted to the subject and according to the experts; they should have a foreseeable potential positive impact on 1st year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Uso de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones en la educación médica / Use of information and communication technologies in medical education

RESUMEN El nuevo milenio ha acercado las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones a las aulas cubanas. El e-learning apoyado en el gran número de recursos disponibles en la red de forma gratuita y los medios tecnológicos, ya en manos de los estudiantes, constituyen toda una revolución en el sector de la educación y particularmente en las universidades de ciencias médicas. No obstante, su uso y aprovechamiento depende de la cultura informática de los profesores y un nuevo estilo en la forma de orientar y conducir el proceso de aprendizaje. Involucrar a los estudiantes y profesionales de la salud en los procesos de formación que surgen con el uso de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones es un reto y la vía al éxito. El presente trabajo comenta ideas sobre este cambio de paradigmas y provee información sobre los recursos disponibles para su materialización.

ABSTRACT The new millennium has brought information and communication technologies closer to Cuban classrooms. The computer- assisted learning supported by available resources on the network for free and the technological aids, already handled by the students, constitutes a revolution in the education branch, particularly in the medical sciences universities. However, its better use depends on the computing culture of teachers and a new style in the way of guiding and driving the learning process. Involving students and health professionals in the training processes that arise with the use of these technologies is a challenge and the way to success. It is the objective of the authors to comment on their ideas about the novel and stimulating when applied to teaching and provide information on some of the resources available for this.

Estado actual y perspectivas del proceso de obtención de categorías científicas en Villa Clara / Current state and perspectives of the process of obtaining scientific ranks in Villa Clara

Fundamento: el potencial científico de un territorio constituye, sin duda alguna, el bien más valioso cuando se piensa en el desarrollo socioeconómico del país. Impulsarlo demanda voluntad, perseverancia y recursos. Objetivo: describir el estado actual y las perspectivas del proceso de obtención de categorías científicas en Villa Clara en el período 2011-2015. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo, longitudinal y prospectivo en Villa Clara; la población de estudio quedó conformada por los 125 investigadores categorizados en la provincia. Se utilizaron métodos del nivel teórico, y entre los empíricos: el análisis documental de los informes anuales de la Dirección de Ciencia y Técnica de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas. Resultados: el mayor número de investigadores ostentan la categoría de Investigador Agregado y hay predominio del sexo femenino. En las entidades de ciencia, tecnología e innovación se registra un gran número de estos profesionales. La mayoría son médicos con categorías principales de Investigador Auxiliar y Titular. Las acciones de capacitación, asesoría y control se asumen como las fortalezas para continuar alcanzando resultados satisfactorios en este proceso. Conclusiones: en la provincia se incrementa anualmente el número de categorizados como investigadores, pero resulta aún insuficiente si se tiene en cuenta el potencial de profesionales que cumplen los requisitos para obtener estas categorías científicas.

Background: the scientific potential of a territory constitutes, no doubt, the most valuable possession when it´s thought of the socioeconomic development of the country. To boost its development demands determination, perseverance and resources. Objective: to describe the current state and the perspectives of the process of obtaining scientific ranks in Villa Clara in the period from 2011 to 2015. Methods: it was carried out a descriptive, longitudinal and prospective study in Villa Clara; the study population comprised 125 ranked researchers in the province. Methods of the theoretical level were used, and among the empiric ones: the documental analysis of the annual reports of the Directorate of Science and Technique of the University of Medical Sciences. Results: most of the researchers have the researching rank of assistant researcher and there is prevalence of the feminine sex. In science, technology and innovation entities a great number of these professionals are registered. Most of them are medical doctors with the associate and full researching rank. The training, advice and control actions are assumed as the strengths to continue reaching satisfactory results in this process. Conclusions: in the province it is annually increased the number of ranked professionals as researchers, but it is even insufficient if it´s kept in mind the potential of professionals that complete the requirements to obtain these scientific ranks.
